Marvin D. Stacy, Sr., died at his Riverton home on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at the age of 75.
No services will be held.
Marvin Dale Stacy was born in Scott City, Kan., on Feb. 4, 1934, the son of Glen Edgar Stacy and Cora Mary (Cadoret) Stacy.
Mr. Stacy served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked as a carpenter and had lived in Riverton since the late 1960s, coming here from Valentine, Neb.
His family described Mr. Stacy as very hard working and self-sufficient in his life. They said he cared deeply for his family and the family name.
He had built many homes in Nebraska and Wyoming after helping his family homestead in Nebraska and Kansas during the Great Depression.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin W. Stacy and his wife Patty of Columbus, Kan., and Bruce L. Stacy and his wife Sheri of Craig, Colo.; two grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Sulzbach and husband Norman of Riverton; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Marjorie.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Les and Melvin, and sisters, Pearl, Dorthy, Edna, and Evelyn.
