Patrick W. "Pat" Brownlee died at his home in Riverton on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at the age of 68.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
Patrick William Brownlee was born in Fort Morgan, Colo., on March 12, 1941, the son of Walter Irwin and Melvora Ester (Everts) Brownlee. He grew up in Craig, Colo., but lived most of his life in Wyoming and Montana, considering Fremont County as his home.
Mr. Brownlee served with the U.S. Army. On Oct. 18, 1968 he married Linda Laney in Ruth, Nevada.
Mr. Brownlee was an oilfield driller. He had worked on- and off-shore in Alaska, California, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma. He worked for Brinkerhoff, Adco, Nucor, and retired from Sauers in 2003 after over 40 years in the oilfields.
His family said Mr. Brownlee enjoyed traveling, going to auctions, gardening, building, playing with his grandchildren, and restored old cars, which he collected.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Brownlee of Riverton; sons, Chris Laney of North Carolina, Gus Brownlee and wife Amber of Lander, Darrin Brownlee of Livingston, Mont., Layne Brownlee of Riverton; daughters, Jennifer Mills and Missy Erb of Riverton, Patricia Harper and husband Bryan of Livingston, Mont., Sheila Snyder and husband Mike of Riverton, Traci Lopez and husband Josh of Salt Lake City, Utah, Samantha Brownlee of Riverton, Barbara Stoddard and husband Greg of Livingston, Mont, Damara Brownlee of Riverton; 32 grandchildren; sisters, Carol New, Gayle Lord, and Mary Carpenter, all of Craig, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lonnie, and two sisters, Joyce and Peggy.
