Robert N. “Bear” Brown of Riverton died on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in Riverton at the age of 52.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Robert Nolan Brown was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Aug. 11, 1957, the son of Nolan J. and Patricia Ann (Slover) Brown. He grew up in Independence, Mo., and was graduated from high school there.
He worked as a laborer in the oil fields. His job took him to several states across the U.S., and he moved to Riverton in 1981. Declining health forced him to retire from the oil fields.
Mr. Brown was baptized into the Christian faith.
His family said he enjoyed fishing, camping, doing beadwork, spending time with his nephew Noah, enjoyed his family, and loved watching and playing football when he was younger.
Survivors include his father, Nolan Brown of Independence, Mo.; brothers, Tim Brown and wife Lisa of Riverton, and Clayton Allen Brown and his wife Becky of Blue Springs, Mo.; a sister, Lisa Ann Tinsley and husband Carl of Raytown, MO.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and a brother, Terry Lee Brown.
