Lillian (Lillie) Mae (Cassidy) Kuhn was born on July 17, 1922, in Lewis County, Kentucky and met her Savior on January 9, 2024 at the age of 101.
Lillian grew up during the depression and times were very hard for the family. Everyone helped where they were able, each having their chores to do. She remembered that the doors were always open to others in need. They shared what they had and made it through the hard times together.
The family moved to Portsmouth, Ohio in 1928 where Lillian attended school only finishing the 8th grade, so that she could help her mother. One of her favorite things she remembered was riding the streetcar to stay with one of her older sisters and being able to go to the movies for 10 cents.
She met and married Forrest (Frosty) Kuhn on October 27, 1945, and raised 6 children. They eventually moved to Columbus where he worked as a carpenter. Winter- time was hard for carpenters so the family moved to California in 1959 where he found steady employment and was able to care for the family. Lillian worked some part time jobs to help. She received her CNA certification and worked in a local nursing home after most of the children were grown.
Forrest retired in 1975 and they moved to Kerrville, TX where he built them a new home. They lived there until a tornado hit their house and after rebuilding, they moved to Wyoming in 1991. Then after a very short try at living in Arizona, which was too hot for them in their 70’s, they moved back to WY, settling in the town of Riverton. They loved to fish and camp and enjoyed their time together in the town and surrounding country.
Lillian lived out the last 13 years of her life after her husband Forrest died, by herself, still mowing her lawn and keeping a very clean house. She had just recently, in October 2023 returned to Kerrville to live with her oldest son Michael and his wife Dee, having developed Dementia.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Verna Lou (Sumner) Cassidy and Henry Jackson Cassidy, her husband, Forrest Lee Kuhn Sr and her oldest daughter, Sandra Lee (Kuhn) Healy. Grandson Forrest Jacob, Granddaughter, Kelly Shannon Kenney, and son in law Ted Snyder.
She is survived by her children Michael Kuhn Sr and wife Dee of Kerrville, TX, Darrell Kuhn and wife Jean of Topock, AZ, Forrest Kuhn Jr and wife, Mary Snyder of Kerens, TX and Kenneth Kuhn of Shoshoni, WY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cynthia Gelb, Michelle Healy, Dawn Scardino, Matthew Kuhn, Michael Kuhn Jr, Christina Tcharkovsky, Kerry Snyder, Derek Snyder, BJ Kuhn, Dustin Kuhn , Jacob Kuhn, and Anthony Kuhn. 17 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
