Memorial services for Sydney Rae Skiver, 27, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Holiday Inn in Riverton, Wyoming.
Sydney Rae Skiver was born September 10, 1996 to Ty and Wendy Skiver and her brother, RC Landingham in Chico, California.
Sydney was definitely an animal lover. She always had a dog, cats, or horses around that she adored. Syd loved to Jr. Rodeo with her brother. At the rodeos she was definitely the leader of the pack running with the kids and having fun. She was a very out going and didn’t know a stranger.
In 2006, they moved to Pendleton, Oregon, Sydney was only 10 years old. She was very active riding cutting horses. For two years in a row she won the Youth Division in the Blue Mountain Cutting Horse Association. She loved it and was good at it!
In 2014, Sydney graduated from Pendleton High School, the moved to Wyoming to live with her aunt Ronae and her cousins. She had a blast going to the Cody Nite Rodeo and running barrels. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a beautiful face and a smile that would light up any room and a witty, fun, loving, personality like no other.
She became a mother of three children, Lyndzy Lane, 6 years old, Sharlay Sue 5 years old, and Rank James, 4 years old. She loved her children very much! Syd loved being a mother and a home maker for Traye Hays, the love of her life, his son Padyn, Lyndzy, Sharlay, and Rank. Running to rodeos, wrestling, dance recitals, and school activities was her life and she loved it!
Syd recently enrolled herself in college at CWC in Riverton, Wyoming to become a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. She was so excited and could not wait to start in May 2024.
On February 2, 2024 Syd went to be with Jesus from a sudden illness in Riverton, Wyoming. In her short 27 years, she knew and loved a lot of people. She had a love for God, her family and strived to be her best!
Sydney is survived by her dad, Ty Skiver; brother, RC, Bliss, and Lynn Landingham; love of her life, Traye Hays and their children; grandpa Ron and Rhonda Skiver; gramps Emory Naylor; uncle, Doug Harrison and aunt Ronae and kids; uncle Sy and kids; uncle Russ and Nettie Hohnhorst and kids.
She was preceded in death by mother, Wendy Skiver; nana, Judy Heal; and grandma, Renee Naylor.
