Eugene ‘Gene’ Alvin Wocicki, 80, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. A celebration of Gene's life will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at his home in Riverton, 1315 E. Adams Street.

Gene was born on July 3, 1943 in Newcastle, WY to Felix and Bernice Wocicki. He grew up and attended school in Newcastle. Later Gene moved to Gillett and worked in the oilfield. He later married Elaine and together they owned Turpin Meadows Guest Ranch, and later bought Paradise Valley Farm.

 

Gene served in the United States Army, and was a member of the American Legion, the American Quarter Horse Association and Wyoming Outfitters Association. He had a love for all things outdoors and sitting around the campfire with good company, sharing life stories. He loved his family and friends and cherished them all. Gene was known to many for his one-of-a-kind personality.

 

Gene is survived by his sons, Steve (Kelly) and Scot (Frances); Grandchildren, Amanda (Cameron) Mackay, Shane Wocicki, Gwen (Cody) Murphy, Gaven (Logan) Wood, Wyatt Murphy, and Colby McCaslin; Great Grandchildren, Harpar, Colt, Hazel, Reata, and Maddux; sisters, Linda (Lee) Elliot, Arlene (Ed) Rap, and nieces and nephews.

 

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Bernice Wocicki; daughter, Tami; and brother, Gary.
