A Memorial service for Janice Rae Lujan Saunders, 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery in St. Stephens, Wyoming. Mrs. Saunders passed away on March 16, 2024 in Riverton, Wyoming.
Janice was born on July 5, 1960 in Parker, Arizona. While living in Parker, Janice attended the Haskell Indian College, where she met her husband, Howard George Lujan, Sr. Janice and George married in 1978 and then moved to Fremont County. Mr. Lujan passed away in 2010.
Mrs. Saunders worked for the St. Stephen’s School and Aspen Park Elementary as a para-professional.
In 2012, Janice met Clarence Saunders and on November 9, 2018, she and Clarence married in Lander, Wyoming.
She enjoyed spending her time knitting and creating new memories by traveling with Clarence. She also liked to watch movies, swim and eat out as well as spend time with her grandkids. Janice had a passion for serving the Lord. She was very active in the Under Command Ministry, serving with the Praise Team, Women’s Study Group and also volunteered with breakfasts. She was an amazing example to those around her.
Survivors include her loving husband, Clarence Saunders; granddaughter, Denolia Lujan; brother, Michael Brown and wife, Barbara of Parker, AZ; sister-in-law, Janice Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ; and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard George Lujan, Sr. and her parents.
