Robert Lee Sauer passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, under hospice care at his home in Ft. Collins, Colorado.  He was 92 years old.

Robert Lee Sauer was born June 20, 1931, in Bridgeport, Nebraska to Henry and Mary Sauer.  He was the 7th out of 10 children.  He grew up on the family farm west of Riverton, off Riverview Road. He survived a farm accident when he was 10 years old, thanks to the invention of Penicillin.

Bob Joined the Navy in 1951 and was enlisted for two years.  His commanding officer recommended that he join the Sea Bees branch of the Navy, which he did.  He hauled heavy equipment all around the United States.  We always teased him that he was a sailor who never stepped foot on a ship!

After hitchhiking back to Wyoming from Virginia he met his future wife Shirley Morrow while working in Superior, Wyoming.  They were married on November 25,1955 and were married for 56 years. They lived in a few various locations around Wyoming. They made their forever home in Riverton where they had two daughters, Deborah Lynn and Tawny Renee.

After working in the Gas Hills, Bob along with his brother Paul started Land Improvement Construction.  They sold and installed numerous Wheel Roll and Center Pivot sprinklers; as well as concrete ditches for many farmers around Riverton and the surrounding towns throughout Wyoming.

Bob’s work was his hobby, he also enjoyed watching the Broncos, and his family was his biggest love.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Lynn Cunningham and husband Michael, Jr. of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Tawny Renee Howe and husband Larry of Dacono, Colorado; five grandchildren, Timothy Robert Cunningham, Kristopher Michael Cunningham, Tiffany Erin Rauff, Nicholas Ryan Bracken and Jeremy Scott Bracken all of Colorado; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; siblings, Florene Sauer Bunner of Glenrock, Wyoming, Ken Sauer of Page, Arizona, and MaryAnn Sauer of Lander, Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by Henry and Mary Sauer, Shirley Mae Sauer; Elizabeth Sauer, Ernie Sauer, Harold Sauer, Gene Sauer, William Sauer, Alma Woodard, and Paul Sauer.
