Funeral services for Lanette Brown, 57, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery. A Vigil Service with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 at Eagle Hall with a Wake to follow.
Miss Brown passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton, Wyoming.
Lanette Marie Brown was born on March 21, 1967 in Riverton, Wyoming, daughter of Royce A. and Patricia A. (Snook) LoneBear. The Indian name she was given was “Singing Cedar Woman.”
She attended Clearfield Job Corps and worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She spent 20 years living in Casper, Wyoming.
Lanette enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and taking walks. She was gifted with an amazing ability from birth to touch people with her kind and compassionate personality. She enjoyed having long phone conversations with her favorite friends and family. Lanette was loved by and loved many people in the Casper area as well as the Wind River Reservation. She loved her cats and the color, purple.
Survivors include her father, Royce LoneBear; sons, Marcel Brown and Dontae Brown; daughters, Marissa Brown and Malika Brown; 10 grandchildren, Ali, Demarcus, Chad, Jr., Latasha, Liliana, Jade, Dion, Pierce, Keya and Baby Hokashina, Jr.; brothers, Ronald Brown and Darwin Brown; sister, Roanna Hereford; friends and family who were with her in the end; aunt, Evelina Blackburn; sister, Brenda Hubbard; granddaughter, Ali; niece, Auree; Lanette’s friends, Kay Antelope, Lynelle Shakespeare and Becky Bell; families of Lonebear, Blackburn, Bell, Brown, Soldierwolf and Headley. Miss Brown was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Snook; paternal grandparents, Richard Brown, Sr. and Anna Bell; maternal grandparents, Seth Blackburn and Lucia Brown; brothers, Ronnie and Darwin Brown.
