Clarinda Blackburn, 42, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away in Denver, Colorado on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. A Vigil Service with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Eagle Hall with wake to follow. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 27, 2024, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.
Clarinda Annie Blackburn was born April 9, 1982 in Riverton, Wyoming to Clara Mae (Bitsie) Blackburn and Freeman James Blackburn, Sr. She grew up and lived on the Wind River Reservation all her life. She attended Arapahoe and Riverton schools and Central Wyoming College where she received her nursing degree.
Clarinda practiced the Traditional Native Way.
She had worked as a housekeeper, bartender, cashier, and Wind River Casino vault. She was working as a Child Care Provider.
Clarinda enjoyed listening to music, playing volleyball and basketball, watching basketball and football, Chargers, and reality on TV. She loved spending time with her daughters, nieces, and her family members.
She is survived by her mother, Clara Blackburn, father, Freeman Blackburn, Sr.; spouse, Nelson Sage; sons, Jaydis Bitsie, Walter Bitsie, Everett Addison, Jade Michael Bushyhead, JaJuan Bushyhead, Norman Bitsie, Jr., Travis Addison, Jervae Blackburn, LaTreyen Blackburn, Taven Blackburn; daughters, Cyanna Sage, Haile Addison, Cedar Mae Blackburn, Donna Track, Shailynne Bitsie, Cahlia Blackburn, Aaniyla Blackburn, and Zahnnay Bitsie; grandchildren, Norman Bitsie, III, Abel Bitsie, Zayden Bitsie; brothers, Norman (Madeline) Bitsie, Sr., Jesse (Nellie) Blackburn, Jerome Track, Benjamin Aragon, B.J. (Amber) Bell, and Jacque Bell; and sisters, Cheryl Blackburn and Mena Piper. The extended families of Blackburn, Bitsie, Keedah, Whitegoats, Vincent, C’Bearing, and Sage.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Jose Lockwood, Freeman Blackburn, Jr., and Sonny Duran; grandparents, Thoms Joseph Blackburn, Margaret and Joseph Duran, Grace Vicenti, and Walter Bitsie, Jr., and son, Jaden Blackburn Sage.
