Elnora “Nora” Miller, 91, formally of Riverton, Wyoming passed away at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June, 19, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton Wyoming. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June, 18, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and before the service from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

 

Elnora E. Schoenholtz was born on October 3, 1932 in Batesland, South Dakota to Henry and Esther Agnes (Case) Schoenholtz. She attended school in Angora Nebraska until her father passed away, and they moved to Baird Nebraska where she attended high school. She was a devoted member of the Baptist Faith.

 

On December 31, 1950 she married Donald M. Miller in Sidney, Nebraska. They traveled around a lot with her husband’s oilfield work in Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming, before settling down in Riverton for many years. She was a homemaker and worked for the Lincoln School Lunch Program.

 

Elnora enjoyed camping, fishing, baking and cooking, especially for family gatherings, needle point and crocheting.  She loved her Red Hat friends, and the Uranium luncheons with the ladies.

 

She is survived by her son, Jim Miller and his wife Brenda of Cheyenne, Wyoming; step-daughter, Connie Evans in Vernal, Utah; sisters, Mildred Butcher of Sidney, Nebraska and Charlotte Brown of Bridgeport, Nebraska; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Esther Schoenholtz; husband, Donald M. Miller; one son, Ronald G. Miller; one brother, Hank Schoenholtz; and three sisters, Mary Knapp; Rosie Lewis; and Pauline Kahrs.
