George SittingEagle, 64, of Mills, Wyoming passed away at Central Wyoming Hospice on Thursday, June 20, 2024. A Vigil Service with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Heritage Hall Fremont County Fairgrounds followed by the wake. The funeral will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.

 

George Henry SittingEagle was born June 8, 1960 in Riverton, Wyoming to Anthony Gabriel and Odelia Ann (Behan) SittingEagle.  He attended school at St. Stephens and grew up on the Wind River Reservation. He moved to Mills approximately sixteen and half years after becoming disabled. He worked as a handyman.

 

George was baptized into the Catholic faith and participated in Native American Ceremonies.

 

George enjoyed bike riding, playing bingo, watching sports and western shows, and going outside in the morning to have his cup of coffee.  He loved being around friends and family.

 

He is survived by his significant other, Edna Doores; sons, Henry SittingEagle, George W. SittingEagle, Jr., Julio Brady, and Frank SittingEagle; daughters, Nellie SittingEagle, Rosetta Piper, Shawntay Eagle, and Antonia Whitefeather; brothers, Linus "Moose" SittingEagle and Virgil Oldman; sisters, Leann SittingEagle and Susan SittingEagle; and other family members.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Odelia SittingEagle; brothers, Clement, William, Gerald D Silas and Stephen Wayne, Sr.; and sisters, Letticia, Felicia, and Dorthy SittingEagle.
