Stephen George Headley Sr. “Coc-Jutch” Indian name “Heeneecee Ce3eis- Buffalo Jump“ age 59, passed away suddenly on June 25, 2024 in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Great Plains Hall. Interment will follow at Stephen G. Headley Cemetery. Vigil with a Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2024 at Great Plains Hall with an all-night wake to follow at 90 Sage Brush Loop Road

 

 

Stephen was born to the late Roselyn Brown-Headley and Leo Headley Sr on June 30, 1964 in Riverton, Wyoming. Later was adopted to MaryAnn and Delmer Duran Sr. 

 

He graduated from Riverton High School and Central Wyoming College with an associate’s degree in Welding. He later married Geraldine Felter on August 1, 1990 and had three boys and two adopted children. 

 

He enjoyed watching basketball, football, spending time with his grandsons, traveling, hunting and being in the outdoors. He was a very traditional Northern Arapaho man and enjoyed all his ceremonial ways. Stephen will be remembered by his great sense of humor and all the help he offered to everyone! 

 

He worked for Great Plains Hall, Arapahoe School District, Wind River Casino, N.A Department of Family Services. He was currently was employed with Wind River Cares as a transport driver and he loved his job and enjoy traveling with his patients to their appointments. 

 

He is survived by his adopted moms, MaryAnn Duran and Mary Headley;

Sons Houston “H-Town”, Stephen “Yogi” (Josie), Cody Jo “Cole-man” (Tahbree Taylor) Headley; Adopted children, Willimenia Piper and Maurice Piper, Leo Headley III (Heather A. Harris), Susan Raye, Whitney and Rosie BigCrow and numerous sons; Godchildren, Rosie Headley, Brandon Underwood, Arturo and Isiah Dewey; Grandsons, Noah Antelope, Kalijah Piper, Avery Brown Carson, James, Jordan and Luka Headley and numerous other grandsons; Granddaughters, Jaelyn Piper, Janeah Whiteman, Jackie, Jamie, Jahmya Lee, Kaijah Piper and numerous other granddaughters; The extended families of the Headley, Yellowbear, C’Hair, Duran, Norse, Smith, Brown; Brothers, Forrest Headley, Leo Headley Jr, Forrest Whiteman, Kendrick Whiteman, Howard Brown, Raymond C’Hair, William C’Hair, Delmer Duran Jr, Matthew Norse, Wayne Norse, Dominic Norse, Leland Black, Telano Returnstowar, Collins Littlewhiteman, JD Whiteman, Preston Moss, Jessie Moss, Sketer Moss, Nelson White. Along with all his sundance brothers and grandsons; Sisters, Kat (Tony) Underwood, June Norse, Julie Mae, Rose C’Hair, Matilda C’Hair.
