Daniel Lee C’Hair, “Iceman," 67, of Arapahoe, Wyoming passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Riverton, Wyoming. A Vigil Service with Rosary will be recited at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church 7:00 pm. Saturday, July 20, 2024, followed by a wake at his mother’s home, 62 C’Hair Lane, Arapahoe, Wyoming. A Traditional Prayer Service will be held, 7:00 pm, Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Great Plains Hall followed by a second wake at 303 Left Hand Ditch Road in Arapahoe. The funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 22, 2024, at Great Plains Hall. Burial service will follow at Tyler Cemetery in Ethete, Wyoming.

 

Daniel was born to the late William S. C’Hair, Sr. and Eva (Brown) C’Hair on November 3, 1956 in Mill Creek, Wyoming.

 

He was baptized into the Catholic faith. Daniel was a firm believer in the Arapaho Way.

 

When Daniel was younger he enjoyed dancing at Pow-Wows, riding horses, playing baseball for the Bonsell Raiders, hunting, as well as,  making dance outfits for his sister, nieces, and his kids. His kids and grandchildren always looked forward to his stories. As Daniel got older he was apart of the Star Society, Eagle Drum, and a part in helping with the family Pow-Wows such as community, and Easter Pow-Wows. Daniel was always up to task for sharing his teachings of his cultural knowledge. Some of Daniel’s hobbies included singing, sweats, hunting, beading, hand games, going to the casino, being with his children and grandchildren; he was their biggest cheerleader. He also looked forward to putting all his grandchildren on the Headstart bus. He always made sure Mom was his passenger princes. Daniel was always getting into mischief with his grandchildren.

 

Daniel is survived by his wife, Karen L. C’Hair; children, BJ (Amber) Bell, Anna (Luke) Fletcher-Brown, Grant (Summer) Fletcher, Dale (Amiee) C’Hair, Jeani Fletcher, Braxton Ridgely, Bobbie Ann C’Hair, Naomi “Nemo” C’Hair, Colin Amos, Dustin Friday, Alannah (Derrick, Sr.) Williams, Allyson Amos, Braydon Duran and Gregory Duran; brothers, William “Icky John” (Pauline) C’Hair, William “Wild Bill” C’Hair, Jr., Raymond Lawrence C’Hair, Sr., Raymond “Moses” C’Hair, Kenneth Paul C’Hair, David Duane C’Hair, Byron (Karen) Yellowbear, and Joe Dusk; sisters, Mary Ann Duran, Matilda C’Hair, Julia Whiteman, Rose C’Hair, Liz Willow; Kay Yellowbear (Mickey Spoonhunter, Sr.), Lorraine Yellowbear (Judd White),Emma (Nelson) Moss, Sadie (Duane) Bell; numerous other adopted children, to many to name; numerous nieces; nephews; god children; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and ceremonial family.

 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, William C’Hair, Sr. and Eva (Brown) C’Hair; grandparents, Andrew Brown, Alta Tyler Brown, Xavier Iceman C’Hair, and Frannie Moccasin; brothers, Wayne C’Hair, Tyrone C’Hair, Ambrose C’Hair, Lee Eagle, Gary “Cute Boy” C’Hair, John C’Hair, Jr., Stephen Headly, and Andrew Brown, III; sisters, Louise C’Hair, Lori Spoonhunter, Carol Norse, Vera C’Hair, Muriel C’Hair, and Mary J. Lee; sons, Michael Fletcher, Byron C’ Hair, and Alfred “Bliss” Spoonhunter;  granddaughter, Josephine Danielle Louise Fletcher; niece, Ashley Norse; daughter-in-law, Georgia Big Legging-C’Hair; and numerous aunts and uncles.
