Lyle Hyatt, 89, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away at the Help for Health Hospice Home on Friday, July 26, 2024. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services held.

 

Lyle Melvin Hyatt was born in Newcastle, Wyoming on March 8, 1935 to Jewell and Lulu (Allen) Hyatt.  He was the youngest child. Lyle grew up in Riverton and participated in sports. After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served from February 1954 to February 1956 when he was honorably discharged.

 

On May 20, 1955 he married Carole Boddy at the First United Methodist Church in Riverton, Wyoming.  They were married for over 67 years. Together they had three sons and one daughter.

 

After serving in the U.S. Army, Lyle and Carole moved to Chadron, Nebraska where he attended college on the GI bill as they started their family. During that time, he was also a mason. He relocated his family to Fremont County in 1972 and worked as a masonry contractor. He later contracted janitorial services for the State of Wyoming at several rest areas.

 

Throughout Lyle’s life he enjoyed sports, whether participating or supporting children and later grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, camping, bowling and playing cards.

 

He is survived by his three sons, Donavon Hyatt of Chadron, NE, Delvin Hyatt and wife, Brenda, of Riverton, WY., and Darwin Hyatt of Rapid City, SD; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; all siblings; daughter, Deanna Shultz; and daughter-in-law (Janice Hyatt).
