Funeral services for William Jack Deveraux, 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2024 at Mount View Cemetery in Basin, Wyoming.
William Jack Deveraux passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Texas.
William Jack Deveraux was born on June 10, 1932, son of Herbert Asher and Mary Ellen (Johnston) Deveraux in Manderson, Wyoming. Following graduation, Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War, and then for the next 20 years. Some of the places he was stationed included: Germany, Wyoming, Texas, Mississippi, Idaho, Guam, New Jersey, and Thailand. Following his time in the service, he owned a service station and wrecker service for 4 1/2 years, then was the Wyoming Sales Manager for Cream O’Weber Dairy for 20 years.
In Jack’s spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, but especially family time.
He was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Riverton, Wyoming, as well as the USAF Sergeants Association.
Survivors include: his son, Sterling E. Deveraux (Cassandra); daughters, Debbie Ann Curtis (Kent), Melody Ann Oliphant (Steve), Charla Marie Mayo (Bill), Jacque Lori Wasson (Tim), and Jalene Lowine Leach (Bill); brothers, Jim Deveraux, Ray Deveraux and Harry Deveraux; 29 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ellen Deveraux; son, William Deveraux; brothers, Herbert Deveraux, George Deveraux, David Deveraux, and Eugene Pennington; sisters Estella Graham, Pearl Graham and Jeannie Deveraux.
