David Leroy Murphy, 80 of Kinnear, Wyoming passed away in Riverton, Wyoming on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
David was born on June 23, 1944 in Fort Washakie, Wyoming to Charles and Isabella (Erickson) Murphy. He grew up in the Kinnear & Crowheart Area, he attended Morton School.
David was a member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe and was baptized in the Catholic Faith.
He was a very proud fireman of the Morton Kinnear Fire Department serving more the 40 years. He was the 1st recipient of the Speed Hartbank Award. Part of his life he drove the Ambulance. He loved to fish the creeks around the Crowheart area with his brothers and friends.
David is survived by his brothers, Raymond Murphy and Louis Murphy; Various nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry Murphy and Isabella Eileen (Erickson) Murphy; brothers, Richard Murphy, Chester Murphy, Gary Murphy, and Jesse Murphy; sisters, Thelma Mollman, Virgina Madman, Judith DuBry, Marjorie Fancher, and Carol Sue Ostertag.
