Jean Corbett

Jean Corbett passed away, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 30, 2024, in Lander, Wyoming.

 

A Vigil Service with a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander, Wyoming.  The funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A dinner will follow. Inurnment will be at a later date.

 

Jean Ann Corbett was born in Rock Spring, Wyoming on October 21, 1934 to Pete and Annie (Bonella) Rogers. She grew up in Hudson, Wyoming and graduated from Lander Vocational High School.

 

Jean was baptized into the Catholic faith and was an active member of the St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Jeffrey City, Wyoming.

 

She worked for the Lander Bureau of Land Management until she married John “Jack” Corbett on September 5, 1964. They lived and worked on the Myers Ranch on the Sweetwater, and in 1970 they purchased the Hurner place on Long Creek, where they spent the next 50 years raising cattle and two children. She was a longtime member of the Fremont County Cattlewomen’s Association.

 

Jean is survived by her children, Troy Corbett and wife Maria and Stacie Citron and husband, Dusty; nine grandsons, John Corbett, Tom Corbett, Tim Corbett, Jess Corbett, Peter Corbett, Colton Citron, Dallin Citron, Orin Citron, and Emil Citron; brother, Paul Rogers and wife, Shannon; sister, Eileen Harnsberger; brother-in-law, Don Corbett and wife, Shirley; sisters-in-law, Kate Farthing and husband, Paul, Edith Philips, Shirley Zier and husband, Al, and Julie Corbett; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents; infant brother, Peter David; in-laws, Thad and Mary Corbett; brothers-in-law, Speed Corbett, Gary Corbett, and Doc Philips; sister-in-law, Lorna Corbett; niece, Laura Harnsberger; and nephew, Todd Corbett.
