Kathleen "Grandma Kathy" Hanley

May 12, 1940 - May 10, 2024

Kathleen Hanley went home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 10, 2024. 2 days short of her 84th birthday. She passed after a short stay at the West Ward Heights Care Center in Lander, Wyoming. She enjoyed the staff and received many of her friends from Dubois.

A celebration of life for Gram Kathy will be held at a future date.

Kathleen Ruth Hanley was born on Sunday, May 12, 1940 in Clarksville, Pennsylvania to Robert Peter and Leona Gertrude Hanley. She was the fifth child of eight and loved her huge family dearly. She strongly impacted every one of their lives and created an everlasting ripple.

Kathleen Ruth Hanley, “aka” Grandma Kathy, was not just an amazing, unique human, she was in a category all on her own. She was strong willed, charismatic, generous, warm, funny, witty and the most genuine person to anyone who knew her. She would give you the shirt off her back and had never met a stranger. She was the light in so many lives and her whole world revolved around her family and friends.

Kathy moved to Dubois Wyoming in 1978 to be with her children and start a new adventures life out of the big city. Once her children graduated from Dubois High School and left for their own adventures, she moved back to Pennsylvania, where she met her life partner, Edgar Rousseau, “pop pop Ed.”

Family was everything to her. In 1996 Kathy brought some luggage, pop pop Ed and her car back to Dubois where she would live out the remainder of her life watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Dubois was home to her and nothing was ever as fulfilling as this beautiful little town and the relationships she created.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Plummer, Jeff (Linda) Delp, Richard (Roxanne) Plummer, Larry Plummer, and Kathy Plummer; grandchildren, Jason (Molly) Delp, Jacob Delp, Danielle Plummer, Karina (Ashton) Rose, Ashley (Rob) Brinsfield, Katie (James Kelly) Plummer, Stephenie McCollum, Cheyenne (AJ) May, Roice McCollum; great grandchildren, Max and Leo Delp, Jemma Bowles, Maysonn Rose, Zach and Isabella Zelenak, Asher and Cameron May; siblings, Adaline Penman, Richard (Teresa) Hanley, Edna Jennings, Edward (Sue) Hanley and Susan Johns.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Leona Hanley; brothers Robert Jr. and Gerald Hanley; nephews Eddie Jr. and Joshua Hanley; David Penman; and grandson Rylee McCollum.

Grandma Kathy would like any Memorial donations to go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501
