David Dwayne Trembly, 58, of Dubois, Wyoming passed away on September 18, 2024 after five years of battling colon cancer. Services will be held 2:00pm Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the original Dubois football field located at 318 Helmer Dubois, WY. In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the gymnasium of Dubois High School located at 700 N 1st St.
David was born on November 20, 1965, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Dwayne and Janet Trembly (Koerner) where he lived until moving to Kansas for college.
He became active with Fellowship of Christian Athletes in middle school and would continue participating in FCA throughout his life. While in Kansas he was injured playing college football, which opened the door for a coaching career which would define his future.
David married Cynthia Graber with whom he had three children: Grant, Scott, and Joel. In 1999 he returned to his home state where he began teaching and coaching in Dubois, Wyoming. He married Adria Little in 2001 and together they had Wyatt.
They lived in what David would call his “retirement home” in the mountains near Dubois until his death. He always felt that he had a dream job helping to mold the lives of young men and women and coaching the three sports he loved: football, wrestling and track. When not coaching, David could be found hunting, fishing, hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
David was inducted into the Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2024, the year of his retirement.
David is survived by his four children Grant and wife Megan, Scott and wife Paxton, Joel and wife Kristin and Wyatt; also, grandchildren James, Emerson, Lauren, and Lexi. He is also survived by his siblings Julie and brother-in-law Alan as well as Steve and sister-in-law Stacy.
David was preceded in death by his parents Dwayne and Janet Trembly (Koerner).
The family wishes to thank all those who have helped in the years subsequent to David’s cancer diagnosis; the emotional and financial support can never be repaid but will never be forgotten.
