Christina Grooms, 53, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Help for Health Hospice Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Riverton Odd Fellows Building in Riverton.
Christina Lynn Sudweeks was born in Whitter, California to Danny Kirk and Shirley (Cummings) Sudweeks. She grew up in White Pine County and attended high school in Ely, Nevada, graduating at seventeen years old in 1989. She spent countless summers with her grandparents, June and Kirk Sudweeks as well as her aunt and uncle, Laurie and Steve Sudweeks. She received two Associates Degrees from Central Wyoming College in 2011, one in Graphic Design and the other in Photography.
Christina was a member of the Riverton Christian Church.
She was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Christian Motorcycle Association.
Christina married Shane Keith Grooms on June 7, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They met while Shane was in Ely, Nevada working for Qwest and their paths crossed multiple times while she was working at the Hotel Nevada. After years of dating, Christina moved to Riverton, Wyoming in 2005. They renewed their vows on June 7, 2008 in Key West, Florida.
After moving to Riverton, she worked for the Wind River Casino for two years, managed Wyoming Horse Racing in Riverton from 2016 to 2022, and her current job was as a nutritionist for Child Development Services.
She and Shane enjoyed many vacation adventures. She loved anything outdoors, riding their Razor, hunting, and being with her family. She loved working with “her” kids at CDS.
She is survived by her husband, Shane Grooms of Riverton, Wyoming; son, Mike Grooms (Ranessa) of Riverton, Wyoming and their children, James, Theodore, and Augustine; daughter, Amelia Grooms of Bismark, North Dakota and her children, Kevin and Jasmine; mother, Shirley Rattazzi; two brothers; two sisters; three brothers-in-law; and mother-in-law, Donna Grooms.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her grandparents, June and Kirk Sudweeks.
