A Celebration of Life for Richard Hobbie 62, will be held at a later date.  Mr. Hobbie passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 in Riverton, Wyoming.  Cremation has taken place under the direction of Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.

 

 

Richard Anthony Hobbie was born on January 4, 1962, son of Harold D. and Harriette M. (White) Hobbie in Racine, Wisconsin.  He attended schools in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, Denver, Colorado and Pomeroy, Washington before finally settling in Shoshoni, Wyoming in 1978.

 

 

On July 20, 1995, Richard married the love of his life, Laury Bradley in Riverton, Wyoming.

 

 

Richard worked a short time in construction and farming but spent the majority of his career working for Bonneville Transloader, Inc.  He was also a manager as well as a cook for the Wrangler Café, manager and bartender for the Lucky 5 Lounge for 20 years until his retirement.

 

 

Mr. Hobbie loved his family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Devin.  In his spare time, you could find Richard creek fishing, watching the Packers play football or listening to the Beatles.

 

 

Survivors include his loving wife, Laury Hobbie; sons, Jesse Bradley, Anthony Gatherers and Christopher Gatherers all of Shoshoni, WY; grandson, Devin LaGois of Laramie, WY; brother, Doug Hobbie and his friend, Myco of Riverton, WY; sisters, Dawn and Tim Thompson of Shoshoni, WY and Kim and Paul DeWitt of Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck Bradley, George and Hazel Schaefer, Teresa Taylor and her partner, Rex Heckert all of Shoshoni, WY. In addition, Richard is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many treasured friends who were considered as family.

 

 

Mr. Hobbie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and June White; parents, Harold and Harriette Hobbie; brother, Frank Hobbie and sister, Danielle Hood.
