Barbara Jean (Carlen) Lambert passed peacefully on September 24, 2024. Barb was born to Orville Carlen and Dorothy (Anderson) Gruenhagen on February 21, 1945, in Cokato, Minnesota.
Barb graduated high school in Howard Lake, Mn. She then moved to Minneapolis to work for the Lutheran Brotherhood. In 1967, Barb relocated to Riverton, Wyoming where she raised her two children: Steve and Stacy. Barb married Donald Lambert in Riverton, Wyoming on December 29th, 1990, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Barb enjoyed a 37-year career working at Lincoln Elementary School and Aspen Elementary School. She assisted in teaching generations of students, and she loved every student and every teacher she had the honor to work with at the schools. A child would always run up to Barb to give her a hug and say ‘hello’. She also worked for 17 years at K-Mart pharmacy. From working both jobs, Barb would always run into someone she knew when she was out in the community, and she would always stop to chat.
Barb was an incredible seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed quilting with the ladies at Trinity Lutheran Church and donating quilts to ABBA’s House. Barb attended every sporting event of her children’s and those of the Treber’s. Her favorite 60th birthday present, was the birth of her grandson, Mark. Barb so loved her grandchildren and being a grandma. Barb's most cherished times of the year were the holidays she spent with her family and the Trebers.
Barb is survived by; her son, Steve (Lori) Mohring, her daughter, Stacy Strasser, her grandson Mark Strasser, granddaughter Kayla (James) Eblin, sisters: Kathy Steffes, Susie (Joe) Snyder, Janet (Tim) LePage, sisters-in-laws: Janet (Mike) Ewert, Connie Gruenhagen, Kay and Patty Lambert along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lambert, her grandparents Hazel and Eric Anderson, her father Orville Carlen, her mother Dorothy Gruenhagen and stepfather Otto Gruenhagen, brothers: Dwight Carlen and Gerald Gruenhagen and her brothers-in-law: Les Steffes and Jerry Hugo.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on October 19th, 2024, at 11:00am with luncheon to follow.
