David Martin Dewey was born on July 26, 1969, to his loving parents, Linus and Thelma (Geboe) Dewey in Riverton, Wyoming.

He was an all-star player for the Eagles at St. Stephen’s Indian School where he also graduated.  His best friend was Eric Underwood and the two shared a life-long bond.  He attended college to pursue his coaching abilities and met his one and only love, Irene Jenkins.  He then became the family man that we all needed.  He taught, coached and shared life lessons with his grandkids, nephews, nieces, daughters and his son, Bryan.  He was forever grateful for those who taught him to be the man he was.  Laughing or not, he never gave up.  His heart was full of love, laughter which gave you hope when you felt like giving up.  When you were feeling down, he knew exactly what to say, just to see you smile and laugh.  Respectfully, David was a Northern Arapaho Sundancer.  He lived our Northern Arapaho way, suffered for all of us because that is our way.  He became ill, continuing strongly.  All his grandkids with, with their love, kept him going strong.

Dave was one of a kind amongst his siblings.  He was the youngest of 4 brothers and 5 sisters.  He took pride in his Big Wind Family, where he was raised.  David was a jack of many trades, including firefighting, carpentry, an athlete (especially in basketball), top flight security, and an all-around family man.  David was a father figure to many, always ensuring everyone was alright.  Forever he will be missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Irene Dewey; son, Aaron Underwood; daughters, Katera Jenkins, Sharyl Gambler, Kimberly Potter, Chasity Duran, Kristy Potter, Tiesha Underwood, Kat Jenkins and Ashlyn Jenkins; brother, Jerry Dewey; sisters, Sherri Duran, Caroline Dewey and Kathy Jenkins; nieces, nephews and Thurlo Jenkins, Jr.; grandchildren, Tazlyn Jenkins, Tyrone SunRhodes, Taylor SunRhodes, his baby girl, Krista LaDeaux, Shadow Underwood, Prayla Underwood, Warrior Underwood, Royal Underwood, Kaniyah Potter, Xavia Feliberty, Tiarah Williams, Turtle Man Jenkins, Darious Tillman, Brody House, Dredyn Duran, Darrel Smith, III, Zayden Jenkins, Tristan Ortiz, Branden Ortiz, Danny Ortiz, Jr., Elianna Duran, Jalissa Jorgenson, Atavia Smith, Jamie Smith, Ariyah Brown, Briseis Brown, Aroura Ortiz, and Asia Addison; sisters, Arlene and Elizabeth Goodman; and brother Darrell Goodman.
