Virginia Margaret Baldes Wagner, of Riverton, Wyoming, went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 7, 2024.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at St. Stephens Catholic Church, St. Stephen’s, Wyoming. Internment will be at Chief Washakie Cemetery in Fort Washakie, Wyoming, placing her with her parents.

 

Virginia Margaret was born in Riverton, WY, on March 25, 1939, to Norman and Juanita (Perea) Baldes.  She was baptized Catholic and had strong Catholic beliefs.

 

Virginia left her home in Riverton to spread her wings traveling the world before coming back home to settle down to work and raise her family.   With her love, kindness, and joyful personality, she touched many lives and hearts in many places. 

 

Virginia worked at Eastern Shoshone & Northern Arapaho HeadStart for over 30 years, thoroughly enjoying her job with the children.  She touched numerous children’s lives, many whom returned later in life to introduce their own children to the woman who has inspired them.

 

She loved being with her family and she was always the life of the occasion or event.  She loved playing country western music, singing, crocheting, quilting, cooking and especially the outdoors, where it may be camping or just riding around in the mountains.  Virginia loved a good cup of coffee and a great conversation.  She never met a stranger and would be the first to help anyone in need.

 

Virginia is survived by sons, George Anthony “Tony” Hernandez, Richard Creighton “Rick” Hernandez (Cheryl Hanna), Melvin Philip Garcia, Victor Bell, Lee McClure (Dee), and Ted Brackett (Kaz); daughter, Marie Cochneuer; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Baldes and family, George Baldes and family; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many friends.

 

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Norman and Juanita Baldes; maternal and paternal grandparents; daughter, Alfreda Mills; great grandson, Shay Mills; several uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
