Memorial Service
Lenora Markve, 82, of Riverton Wyoming passed away at Help For Health Hospice Home on Monday, October 14, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Lenora Lee Novotny was born on January 9, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was raised on a farm north of Gregory, South Dakota by parents John and Sylvia (Konop) Novotny. A brother, John (Johnny) Marlo Novotny, was born soon after.
On July 12, 1958, she married Bernard “Barney” Schroeder. They moved to Riverton from South Dakota in 1969. Lenora worked at JC Penny and later earned her real estate license. She owned and operated ERA-Aspen Realty for several years. Lenora and Barney were married over 45 years before he passed on February 4, 2024.
Lenora married Tom Markve on July 28, 2012, at their home in Riverton. After retiring from real estate, the two traveled and enjoyed cruises to various locations. They enjoyed 12 years of marriage.
Lenora is survived by her husband Tom Markve of Riverton; daughter Cynthia “Cindy” Childers of Custer, SD; granddaughter Hallie Ross Childers of Glenwood Springs, CO; step-sons Mike, Marty, and Scott Markve and half-siblings Gary Nickolisen and Shirley Kuykendall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sylvia Novotny; first husband, Barney Schroeder; and brother, Johnny Novotny.
