Brenda Cross

Brenda Cross, 71, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away at Sage West Hospital – Riverton on Monday, October 14, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home.

Brenda Louise Schwartz was born February 15, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to George Lawrence and Cecile Tina (McCray)Schwartz. She grew up in Denver and attended school there. In 1970 she met Martin James Arey. They soon married and began a family in 1973 starting with a daughter Wendie Kay Arey and two sons Richard Fredrick Arey and Russell Lawrence Arey. In 1985 they moved to Wyoming where she remained until her death.

On August 10, 2013 at Louie Lake above Lander, Wyoming, she married Bill J. Cross.

Brenda was a housewife and was always busy quilting, being outdoors, fishing, camping, and enjoying life. She loved spending time with her husband, children, and dogs (Boston Terriers).

She is survived by her husband, Bill Cross; sons, Russell Lawrence Arey, Richard Fredrick Arey, Greg Alan Cross, and; daughters, Melissa Ann Hammer and Wendie Kay Bowers; grandsons, Brandon James Arey and Jason Hammer; granddaughters, Lilliane Correnti, Miranda Hammer and Makenzie Kirkendall; and sister, Sandra Schwartz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Cecile Schwartz; son, Shawn David Cross; brother George Lawrence Schwartz, II; and sister, Becky Torres.
