Bud Daley, 92 of Lander, Wyoming passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Help for Health Hospice in Riverton, WY.
Bud was born in Orange, CA on October 7, 1932, to Leavitt and Helen Daley. In 1952 Bud married his high school sweetheart Dorothy Olson and recently they celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. Together they had four children: son, Ed of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Debbie Pries (Tom) of Gardnerville, NV, daughter, Laurie Van Fleet (Dave) of Lander, WY; and son Jeff (Vicki) of Richmond, TX.
Bud led an extraordinary life. After High School Bud signed with the Cleveland Indians. During his 10-year major league career he played for the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Athletics and the NY Yankees, playing on 4 pennant winners, two World Championship teams, pitched in the World Series in 1961 and 1962, winning the final game of the 1961 World Series, and was an All-Star in 1959 and 1960.
Bud and Dorothy moved to Wyoming in 1975, living in both Lander and Riverton for the past 49 years. Bud was an avid golfer, winning the State Senior Tournament numerous times.
In addition to his children, Bud is survived by his wife, Dorothy, eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Eldon “Curly” Petzoldt.
