Khristy Fritz

Khristy Fritz

Aug 13, 1962 - Oct 30, 2024

Khristy Kay Fritz was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on October 30, 2024 at the age of 62 along with her daughter, Amber and precious grandson, Asher.

Khristy was born to Roy and Rita McKenney on August 13, 1962. She graduated from Sundance High School in 1980 and was working in town at the local grocery store when she met her future husband, Dan Fritz. When they would share the memory of their first encounter, you could tell they were describing love at first sight. The two were married April 11, 1986. Khristy welcomed 3 beautiful children into this world in quick succession. Daniel James (1989), Andrew Todd (1990) and Amber Marie (1991). She was a devoted mother and the true definition of a Proverbs 31 wife.

Khristy and her husband were missionaries for many years, traveling around the country. With their 3 children in tow, they did their best to spread the love of Jesus to each community they became a part of. The main goal of all their traveling was to garner the support of different churches so they would have enough funding to begin a church of their own. After 5 years of adventuring as traveling Missionaries, they were finally able to return home and started the Fort Washakie Baptist Church. From humble beginnings in a trailer to the beautiful building that exists today, they brought the church to life! Khristy provided meals, vocals, secretarial duties and so much more.

Khristy worked at many places but none quite so special as the bus garage. She enjoyed the kids on her route so much and always seemed to know their stories. If you were having a bad day, she was always there to tell a story and lighten the mood. She loved all her bus kids and was constantly watching and waiting to hear their success stories. Even in the midst of struggling with her health, she never failed to show up for the kids on her route.

Khristy is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Jessica) Fritz and Andrew (Andrea) Fritz; her grandchildren, Titus, Emma, Darian, Derek, Gabriel and Mia; her brothers, Jim (Doreen) McKenney and Todd McKenney as well as several loved nieces and nephews, Roy, Logan, AJ, Brittany, Julie, Sam and Tanner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Rita McKenney; her husband, Daniel Fritz; her daughter, Amber Fritz and her grandsons, Triton Fritz and Asher Fritz.

In America, only about 27% of homes have a Carbon Monoxide Detector and even less then that are up to date or tested monthly. Remembering to test your Carbon Monoxide Detectors each month could mean the difference between life and death. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a poisonous, colorless and odorless gas which is impossible to detect without an alarm. The U.S. Fire Administration estimates more than 200 people die every year from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. These types of incidents happen when things like appliances, equipment and vehicles are faulty, improperly used or not properly vented. As with smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors should be installed on each level of the home and outside EVERY sleeping area. The batteries should also be tested monthly. If you have any gas appliances at all, check your home to be sure you have the correct number of Carbon Monoxide Detectors and that they are tested regularly.

Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Community Church (3611 Riverview Road, Riverton, Wy) on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 3pm with a reception to follow at the Fremont Center, Fremont County Fairgrounds.
