William H.B. "Bill" Graves of Riverton died on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He was 81.

At his request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place and burial of his ashes will be in Wheatland.

William H.B. Graves was born in Wheatland on May 12, 1928, the son of William C. and Edythe J. (Curtis) Graves.

He graduated from the University of Wyoming in Laramie with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Mr. Graves served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On July 17, 1948, he married Jeannie O'Bryan at the Methodist Church in Laramie.

Mr. Graves was a consulting geologist, self-employed in the mining industry. He worked as a geologist in Riverton for 47 years, starting with Federal Partners.

His family said he enjoyed fishing, golf, and boating.

He was a member of the Riverton Country Club, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie of Riverton; a son, Doug Graves of Riverton; two grandchildren, Marisha Graves and Tyler Graves; brothers, Frank Graves and his wife Kay of Cheyenne and Gary Graves and his wife Doris of Wheatland; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1275 North Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.
