Danny K. Wimp, 78, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away at his home with his loving family by his side. Danny loved working for Sutherlands Home Improvement in Riverton. The family will host a memorial service for Danny in the Spring of 2025 by the flowers and trees of the Sutherlands parking area. A date and time will be announced later.
Danny Kaye Wimp was born October 28, 1946 in Eads, Colorado to Milford D. and Betty (Walker) Wimp. He grew up in Colorado moving with his family to Wyoming where is father was a driller for Ormsby Well Drilling, a company Danny would work beside his father. Ultimately Dan worked for Sutherlands Home Improvement in Riverton helping set up the store before it opened. Dan enjoyed working with great co-workers and helping customers. His family said he was passionate about his work and was told he was a workaholic.
His family said he loved going to the casino. A special memory shared by his daughter was their fishing trips when she was growing up. Danny was a collector of model cars and was the family’s energizer bunny who was always ready to go. Being late was not in his genes as he was ready to arrive early where ever they went.
Danny his survived by his Jr. High Sweetheart, Nancy J. (Kohler) Wimp that he wasn’t going to let go the second time around. The couple rekindled their relationship and married March 16, 2005 in Lander, Wyoming with a favorite meal at Tony’s Pizza afterwards. Dan is survived by his step-son, John Ford; daughter, Amanda Wimp both of Riverton; brother, David Wimp of Cheyenne, WY; sister, Linda Stimpson of Holiday, UT; brother-in-law, Ron Kohler of Riverton; and sister-in-law, Helen French of Denver, CO; and his dog, Mitsy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Betty Wimp.
