Dennis Arthur Rosburg, 80, entered eternal glory with his Savior on Saturday, November 16, 2024.  Dennis was born on April 15, 1944 in Riverton, Wyoming to Damon and Gertrude Rosburg.  He was baptized, confirmed, and attended Trinity Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed playing basketball in high school and during his summers, he would fondly recall working at the Miller beehives gathering honey.  Dennis graduated from Riverton High School in 1962 and continued his studies in the United States Air Force where he proudly served for four years, mostly in Alaska.  After service, he graduated from Casper College and the University of Wyoming with his accounting degree.

In the summer of 1968, Dennis saw Alice Weber zoom by in her ‘62 white Mercury whereupon he sped up to catch her.  A dating friendship developed, and they were married in August 1969, also at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Riverton, Wyoming.  They moved to Cody to begin their life together.  Dennis was an accountant for over 30 years in Cody often helping family and church members for free.  The running joke was that he was meant to be an accountant since tax season officially ends on April 15, his birthday!  Dennis had a knack for numbers and remembered dates, phone numbers, addresses, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc. that impressed all who met him.  He loved playing Sudoku, a math number game, every day.

Although Dennis loved math and accounting, he was an avid sports fan of ALL sports, but especially football, basketball, and his cherished New York Yankees baseball team.  He spent many a summer vacation on the farm where he helped his brother-in-law, Alfred Weber, bale hay and drive sugar beet trucks.  Dennis enjoyed canning vegetables every year from his garden and making homemade applesauce.  The family loved his charcoal grilled hamburgers and steaks, and he was famous for baking his beloved Christmas breads and goodies that his grandsons continue to this day.  Throughout the years in Cody, he and his family were regular attendees at the community concerts.  Dennis was a faithful member at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cody where he served as treasurer and financial secretary for over 30 years.  Dennis believed in dressing respectfully for church and would often don a dapper tie and sport coat every Sunday.  That has carried over to his beloved grandsons who proudly sport some of his ties at church.

For those that knew Dennis, he suffered terribly from spinal stenosis and other bone/joint issues where he endured 45 surgeries over the years.  Although Dennis showed his temper from time to time, he was a truly amazing patient.  Doctors and nurses often mentioned how they were astonished by his kindness and lack of complaining during numerous hospitalizations.  He did his best to attend his grandsons’ events until his body would no longer allow him to do so.  In the later years, Dennis became a faithful fan of FOX News.  The day after the presidential election, Dennis was slated for what became his final surgery.  When he heard that Trump won the presidency, he shouted, “Hallelujah,” from his hospital room.

Dennis’ grandsons were his pride and joy.  After every conversation he had with them, he ended each with, “Work hard in school.” He loved spending the holidays, watching football, talking politics, and playing games with them.  His laughter with his grandsons was infectious.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Damon and Gertrude Rosburg and his brother Jared Rosburg along with many dear Weber in-laws.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Rosburg, of 55 years; daughter, Linda (Jeff) Snyder of Casper and grandsons, Samuel (Clare) and Jonah Snyder; son, Paul (Carrie) Rosburg of Casper and grandsons, Ashton and Preston Rosburg.  He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth (Kay) Rosburg of Arizona and sister, Diana Miller of Arizona as well as several nieces and nephews.  He will be greatly missed by his family, and we look forward to being reunited in heaven with our Savior.

Viewing for Dennis will be at Davis Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, from 6:00-8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riverton on Saturday, November 23, at 10:00 A.M. followed by the comital at Mountain View Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Dennis Rosburg Memorial Fund in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main St., Riverton, WY  82501.
