Funeral Mass for lifelong Riverton resident, Glenn Smith, Sr., 82, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery. A Vigil Service with a reciting of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Smith family home, 59 Gas Hills Rd, Riverton, WY with the wake to follow.
Mr. Smith passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 in Riverton, Wyoming.
Glenn Marcus Smith, Sr. was born on April 28, 1942, son of Alfred and Ellen (Brown) Smith in Riverton, Wyoming. He married Carolyn Brogdon in Thermopolis, Wyoming.
In 1968, Glenn began working for US Energy where he remained until his retirement in 1999. In 2000, he opened up his own welding business and in 2002, he established a trucking company.
Glenn had many hobbies Glenn enjoyed were hunting, fishing, playing baseball, camping and drawing. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family. He was a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and baptized into the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Smith of Riverton, WY; sons, Flint (Jennifer) Smith, Lance Smith and Glenn (Trish) Smith, Jr.; daughters, Eutana (Jeremy) Brening and Glenda (Ronald) Mitchell; brothers, Teno Montoya, Martin Montoya, Laron Montoya, Richard Garcia and Pete Garcia; sisters, Gerry Monroe, Barbara P., Juanita Garcia, Phyllis Smith and Alfreda Smith; grandchildren, Tasheena Immenschuh, Kristina Ngconga, Kimberly Roylance, Lynnard Immenschuh, Emily Smith, Tyler Smith, Kelvin Smith, Cassandra Smith, Tiffannee Smith, Jessie Smith, Cody Dooley, Sheridan Hart, Shaniya Smith, Skyler Smith, Sydney Smith, Saxton Smith, Sedar Smith, Shatto Smith, Amelia Smith, Angel Jauregui; 30 grandchildren and 1 on the way.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ellen Smith; grandparents, Amy Armajo Brown and Axe Brown; sisters, Merle Brown and Katherine Friday; brother, Charles Manderson and son, Tony Smith.
