Grace Julia Willow, 74, of Ethete, Wyoming passed away at her home on Monday, December 09, 2024. A vigil service with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. A wake will follow at 626 Ethete Road, Ethete, Wyoming. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Whiteman Cemetery.
Grace Julia Willow was born on March 3, 1950 in Arapahoe, Wyoming to Ernest and Mary Lucille (Friday) Willow. She grew up and lived on the Wind River Reservation her entire life. She was an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. She graduated from Riverton High School and attended Haskell Indian Nations University and was on credit short of her degree.
Grace was baptized into the Catholic faith and was active in the church.
She had many jobs over her working career. She worked as a manager at the Ethete Store, with B.I.A. Reality, a Diabetic Specialist for Northern Arapaho Tribe, a nurse, secretary for Northern Arapaho Senior Center, a supervisor at Wind River Casino; a community health representative, and in her young years she worked at a cannery in Idaho.
She is survived by her daughters, Loretta (Mitch) Whiteman, Alana (Gary) Whiteman, Tashina (Gaylen) Tillman, Rita M. (Anthony) Willow, Kayla (Vernon) Hill, Tara Brown, Valene Brow, Miken (Aron) Oldman, Willow (Dallas) Manzaneres, Cheryl Robertson, Ivy Robertson, Alicia (James) Willow, Sheniele Friday, Sydney Willow, Alta Bell, and Annie Wilson; godsons, Terry J. Wilson, Darrell Moss, Jr., Wendall Moss, Sr., and Theodore Moss; sons, David Gambler, Alfred Willow, Jr., Wesley Underwood, Kendrick Killsontop, Mitchell Whiteman, David Ernest Robertson, Reuben E. Quiver, Iscac Spoonhunter, Dalen Spoonhunter, Allen Stamp, Ben Aragon, LeGard Willow, and Charles Willow; grandkids, Janaeah Whiteman, Jaelynne Piper, Tyree and Shannon Brown, Ayden Jayden and Charleen Goodshield, Shanielle and Jason Brown, Mitchelleen Warren.
