Joshua Chavez, born April 6, 1992 in Riverton, Wyoming passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024.  He was 32 years old.  A viewing for family and friends will be held 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton.

 

Joshua I. Chavez was born April 6, 1992 in Riverton, WY to Verna Longsoldier and Greg Chavez. He grew up in Fremont County and graduated from Riverton High School in 2011. 

 

He worked in the farm and ranch industry then moved to Missoula MT.  He lived and worked in Montana for a brief period of time.  He returned to his home in Wyoming and met the mother of his children, Christina Friday and had two children who were the light of Josh’s life.

 

He liked to fish, walk in the mountains, camp and hunt.  He was family orientated and loved his children.  He enjoyed teaching his children to fish and hunt when they would spend time in the mountains.  He was adventurous and made friends where ever he went. 

 

He will be very missed by his children and loved ones. 

 

He is survived by grandparents, Christobal Chavez and Vera Buckman; son, Killian Chavez; daughter, Isla Chavez; brothers, Daniel Campbell, William (Tanisha) Chavez, and Derek (Lyndsay) Chavez; sisters, Chasity Longsolider, Zena Longsoldier, Clarissa (Eric) Walsh, Marie Kane, Myra (Jeff) Chavez; aunts, Amelia Chaves and Clarice Chaves – Green; nieces and nephews, Haylo Chavez, Mitchell Amaechi William Chavez, Ellionna Chavez, Vivian Chavez, Christopher Chavez, Nykeran Campbell, Christa Chavez, and David Quinn.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martina Brown; father, Greg Chavez; uncle, Chris Chavez.
