Celebration of Life

Chandelle Event Center

Patricia “Pat” Buoy, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, at Help for Health Hospice, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 75. Pat was born on August 11, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, to Peter Robert Chimenti, Sr., and Beth (Carson) Chimenti.

When Pat was one, she and her family moved to Dubois, Wyoming, where she grew up with her siblings and developed a lifelong love for the great outdoors. She graduated from Dubois High School, setting the stage for a life filled with meaningful connections, professional achievements, and a deep devotion to her family.

In 1969, Pat married LeRoy Jerald Buoy, and together they raised two children, Angela and Kasey. Though the marriage ended in divorce, her love for her children and grandchildren was the cornerstone of her life.

Pat lived in many places throughout her life, including New York, Worland, Gillette, Idaho Falls, Laramie, Cheyenne, and Dubois before settling in Riverton in 2001. Wherever she went, she built strong connections and surrounded herself with a tight-knit group of friends who were like family.

Pat’s career was as diverse and dynamic as she was. From owning and operating Captain Hook’s Drive-In in Worland, Wyoming, serving the Chamber of Commerce in Dubois, Wyoming, having her real estate license, and providing compassionate care at a nursing home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she wore many hats with grace and dedication. Her final career chapter, however, was the most impactful—serving as a Victim Advocate for the Riverton Police Department. Pat found purpose and fulfillment in helping others during their most challenging times. After a long career, she retired, leaving a legacy of kindness and advocacy.  Her compassion, strength, and unwavering support made a lasting impact on many lives.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who brought light and warmth to everyone she met. She had a profound love for spending time with family and friends, creating countless cherished memories. Her happiest moments were spent outdoors, fishing, tending to her yard, visiting with family and friends, and losing herself in the pages of a good book.  The outdoors brought her immense joy, but nothing compared to the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. They were the center of her world and her greatest pride and joy.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Wallace of Grand Lake, CO, and her son, Kasey (Flori) Buoy, of Hamilton, MT; grandchildren Tanner Frymire, Savanna Frymire and fiancé TJ Ronfeldt, Olivia Buoy, Abigail Buoy, and Simon Buoy; brother Mike (Jan) Chimenti of Thermopolis, WY, brother, Pete (Sheryl) Chimenti of Dubois, WY, and brother Jerry Burmeister of Albuquerque, NM; many nieces and nephews, and a tight friend group.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Beth Chimenti; her sister, Dava “Charlie” Day; and her sister-in-law, Jerri Burmeister.

A Celebration of Life will be held on 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Chandelle Event Center in Riverton, where family and friends will gather to honor Pat’s incredible life and the many ways, she touched the hearts of those around her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Help for Health Hospice Home in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.

Pat will be remembered as a spirited and compassionate woman who lived life to the fullest. Her legacy lives on through her family, friends, and the countless lives she impacted. She will be deeply missed but forever celebrated.
