Mardel June Vroman, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 26, 2024. She was born on February 15, 1931in Custer, South Dakota, to Melven Grandville Caster and Amanda Elizabeth (Roger) Caster.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Shoshoni, Wyoming. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked by the family to meet at the Shoshoni Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. to follow the hearse to the cemetery. Following the graveside service there will be a Celebration of Life and luncheon at the Shoshoni Fire Hall.

Mardel married Robert “Bob” Vroman on June 5, 1945, in Glenrock, Wyoming. Together, they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years. Mardel was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Shoshoni, where she taught Sunday School and was actively involved in church activities.

Mardel loved being surrounded by her family and cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. An avid reader, she found great joy in books and worked as a librarian. Over the years, she also worked as a head maid and in health care at a nursing home. Mardel lived for over 25 years in Shoshoni, Wyoming, and also resided in Phoenix, Arizona, and North Pole, Alaska.

She is survived by her children: sons, Robert Vroman of North Pole, Alaska, and Bart Vroman of Shoshoni, Wyoming; daughters, Vicky Vreeland of Evanston, Wyoming, and Teresa Lunbeck of Shoshoni, Wyoming; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchildren.

Mardel was preceded in death by her parents, Melven and Amanda Caster; her husband, Robert “Bob” Vroman; her son, Frank Vroman; her daughter, Linda Vroman; her granddaughter, Linda Jordan; her grandson, Robert Vroman, Jr.; and her sister, Emily Williams.

Mardel’s warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
