Agnes Theresa Ridgley-Sanders, born February 26, 1941, in St. Stephens, WY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY. She was 83 years old.
Agnes was the cherished daughter of Marguerite (Ridgley) Revere. She was baptized into the Catholic faith and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Casper, where she also worked as a receptionist. Her strong faith and dedication to her community were evident throughout her life.
Agnes dedicated much of her career to, working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in numerous locations, including Washington, D.C., Wisconsin, Maryland, California, Chesapeake City, Virginia Beach, Oregon, and Casper, WY. Her commitment to serving others and her tireless work ethic were hallmarks of her character.
On May 19, 1991, Agnes married Clyde Parker Sanders at St. Stephen’s Mission in Wyoming. Their union was one of love, faith, and shared purpose. In the last 20 years of her life, Agnes resided in Casper, where she enjoyed walking, reading, attending church, and participating in church events. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering devotion to her faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Sandra Dayton of Lander, WY; her sons, Clyde Sanders, Jr., of Lander, WY, Maurice Sanders of Henderson, NV, and Robert Sanders and his wife Stonie of Kemmerer, WY; as well as nine grandchildren and also Ridgley, Warren, Goggles, YellowPlume, and Trumbull families. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will be cherished by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Parker Sanders, Sr.; her grandparents, her uncles, Felix Garfield and Royce Yellowplume; her brothers, Thomas Revere, Lawrence Daniel Brown, Eugene Ridgely, Sr., and Hugh Ridgely; her sisters, Valene Revere, Thelma Hungary, Carol Red Cherries, and Marjorie Ellis; her nephews, Blaine Revere and Austin Goggles; and her grandchildren, Amber Rose Iron Eyes and August Dreams Whiteplume.
A vigil service with a rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Eagle Hall, followed by a wake. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.
Agnes’s family and friends will forever remember her for her faith, kindness, and the love she shared with all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
