Betty Anne Sells
October 16, 1936 – December 22, 2024
Our beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, Betty Sells, passed away quietly of natural causes on December 22, 2024. She was 88 years old.
There will be a graveside memorial service for Betty on June 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Riverton, Wyoming at the Mountain View Cemetery.
Betty was a Wyoming girl and was born in Gebo, Wyoming to Carl and Anna Isbell. Her family moved from Gebo to Thermopolis, Wyoming where she attended and graduated from High School. After graduating from High School, she married the love of her life, Donald (Don) Sells and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Over the years due to Don’s promotions with Mountain Bell Telephone they moved around Wyoming and lived in Rock Springs, Powell and ended up in Riverton. Throughout that time, they proceeded to have four children, Mark, Laurie, Henry and Dorothy. When Don passed away in 1997, Betty left Riverton and moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1998 to be near family. She then moved to Caldwell, Idaho in 2007 to be near her daughter Laurie and her family living in Boise, Idaho. She remained in Caldwell until her death.
Betty was a beautiful Christian woman who loves Jesus and was always willing to help out at church in whatever capacity she could. She loved partying and playing cards with her church girlfriends and banging pots and pans with them at midnight on New Year’s. Betty was a remarkable artist. Her paintings were featured in art shows and hang on the walls of people who loved her beautiful nature scenes. She was a true animal lover and adored every pet that she ever had – from horses when she was young to the dogs and cats she cherished throughout her life. Betty loved to travel and was a world traveler visiting many countries including Mexico, Canada, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Thailand and Ireland. She also loved to go on cruises and enjoyed many. She was a very busy lady!
Betty is survived by her children Mark Sells (spouse Gina), Laurie Birrer (spouse Mark Birrer), Henry Sells and Dorothy Sells (spouse Kelly Coyle). Her grandchildren Quinn Sells, Amber Manz, Jessica Sells, Jacob Sells, Hunter Birrer and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving spouse Donald Sells, her parents Carl and Anna Isbell, her brother James Isbell and her sister Shirley Scheuch.
Betty truly blessed the hearts of all who knew her. She was a beautiful soul and we are comforted knowing that she is with our precious Lord and Savior and that someday we will be together again. “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25-26
