Ann Marie Flory

Ann Marie Flory, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 77.
Ann was born on May 9, 1947, in Juneau, Alaska, to Evan Francis Wruck and Helen Marie (Gardner) Wruck. She spent her early years in Juneau before her family relocated to Oregon. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Medford, Oregon, and went on to study for two years at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, Oregon.
Ann dedicated much of her life to teaching and caring for others. She served as a school teacher within the homeschool and church school communities in Deer River, MN, where she also lovingly educated her own children, Joseph and Brenda. Ann’s nurturing nature extended far beyond the classroom. She was known for her selflessness, her appreciation for life’s simple joys, and her unwavering commitment to helping others, often putting their needs ahead of her own.
Ann worked at Walmart for over 25 years, retiring in 2019. She spent 25 years living in Riverton, Wyoming, where she formed cherished relationships with friends and neighbors.
Ann is survived by her son, Joseph A. Palmer, Jr., and his wife, Sherie; her granddaughters, Kassie, Jocelyn, Izabel, and Samantha; her brothers, Jerry Wruck and Allan Wruck; and her sisters, Elaine Wruck and Sharon Estes, along with Sharon’s husband, Jim.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron Flory; her parents, Evan and Helen Wruck; her baby son, Johnny; her daughter, Brenda Palmer; her brother, Gene Wruck; and her sister-in-law, Marica Wruck; and her children’s (Joseph and Brenda) father, Joseph Palmer, Sr.
Ann will be remembered as a woman who gave her whole heart to her family and those around her. She touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion and left behind a legacy of love and care.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date to honor Ann’s memory and the incredible life she lived.
