Perriann Witt, a dedicated educator, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 9, 2025. She was born on March 14, 1960, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Dean Martin Glandt and Myrtle Davenne Wilson-Glandt.

Perriann spent her formative years in Lusk, Wyoming, attending parochial schools from grades five through eight. In 1970, her family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1978. Following her high school graduation, she attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education.

Perriann began her impactful 40-year teaching career in 1982, working with profoundly disabled students aged 5-21, emotionally disturbed students, and students in resource rooms, self-contained classrooms, and traditional classrooms. Her passion for teaching and commitment to her students led her to serve in various schools across Wyoming, including Laramie, Basin, the Wind River Reservation, St. Stephens High School, and others. Perriann retired in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication to her students.

While pursuing her education in Laramie, Perriann welcomed her three beloved sons: Benjamin, Nicholas, and Alex. In addition to being a devoted teacher, she enjoyed a vibrant life filled with gardening, raising chickens, guineas, peacocks, and Muscovy ducks, creating intricate beadwork (especially moccasins), and riding her motorcycle.

Perriann married David Stanley in 1978, and after their divorce, she found love again with William “Willie” Charles Witt, whom she married on February 9, 2013, in Riverton, Wyoming.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Witt; mother, Myrtle Glandt; sons, Benjamin Stanley, Nicholas (Stephanie) Stanley, and Alex (Gary) Stanley; grandchildren, Tymberlee, Xayvyr, Monica, Talus, Soleil, and Whitecloud SunRhodes; brother, Matthew Glandt; and sister, Delphine Glandt-Becker.

Perriann was preceded in death by her father, Dean Glandt; grandparents, Dave and Grace Wilson and Martin and Mae Glandt; sister, Anna Shipley; cousin, Jacqueline Hughes; and many dear former students whose lives she touched.

Perriann’s warmth, creativity, and dedication to her family and students will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to love, perseverance, and service to others.
