Rhonda Lynn Slack

It is with great sadness to announce that Rhonda Lynn Slack, 51, peacefully passed away after a hard-fought battle with bile duct cancer on Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Riverton Wyoming. 

She was born on November 4, 1973 to James Duncan Slack and Norma Rose Slack in Meeteetse, Wyoming. She grew up on a farm in Meeteetse and graduated with the Meeteetse High School class of 1992. She participated in FFA for several years and was a state FFA officer. She was a part of many school activities. She went on to study at various colleges in Wyoming. 

She has lived in Meeteetse, Laramie and finally settled in Riverton. Even though she always considered her home to be Meeteetse. 

Rhonda has had multiple jobs but her favorite and most long lasting was as a leather tooler and chap maker. She was the owner of Western Supply in Riverton, Wyoming. She enjoyed and excelled at making custom chaps and chinks for people all over the world. She also donated to many charities around Fremont County on her own and through her business. She had an especially soft spot for the fair and rodeo events. 

She is survived by her son, Ransom Slack (Elie Walters). Her father, James Slack (Jane) of Powell, Wyoming.  Her mother Norma Rose Slack of Yoder, Colorado.  Her brother, Steve Slack (Tonya) of Glendale, Arizona, and her sister Randi Hudson (Russell) of Yoder, Colorado. Her nieces Riah and Shannon along with numerous aunts, an uncle and numerous cousins. She is also survived by her faithful pet companions T Dog, the cat and Otto, the dog. 

She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Clarence and Clara Slack and Norma Wickens and Elgan Shipp along with multiple aunts and uncles. 

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 430 Elizabeth Drive in Riverton, Wyoming. A viewing will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home.
