Sandra “Sandy” Jean Kruske, 86, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025.
Sandy was born on April 27, 1938, in Lead, South Dakota, to Horace and Evelyn (Wheeler) Anderson. She grew up in Lead and graduated from high school there.
After graduating, Sandy worked as a telephone operator until she married the love of her life, Donald “Buster” Kruske, on July 19, 1957, in Lead. The couple met through mutual friends after Buster was discharged from the Navy and began working in the mines. Together, they built a loving family, raising three sons and one daughter.
In August 1976, the family relocated to Riverton, Wyoming. Sandy continued to make her mark in her community, working as a bookkeeper for Birckhead Electrical, the Ambulance Service, and volunteering with Hospice.
Sandy’s greatest joy was her family. She loved raising her children and cherished time spent gardening, reading, and creating beautiful embroidery pieces that won her Blue Ribbons at the County Fair. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafts, singing in a choir; the barbershop choir took a memorable trip to New York City and sang at Carnegie Hall. A lover of adventure, Sandy made numerous trips to Wendover with her friends to indulge in her passion for gambling.
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Donald “Buster” Kruske of Riverton, Wyoming; her children, Donald Kruske of Spearfish, South Dakota, Jason Kruske of Moran, Wyoming, and Sue Wieser of Las Vegas, Nevada; her grandchildren, Christina Prater, Amber Corey, Jake Kruske, and TJ Wieser; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Evelyn Anderson; her son, Ron Kruske; and her brother, Jerry Anderson.
