Riverton attorney Donald J. "Don" Keenan died at his home in Riverton on Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010. He was 59.
At his request, no services will be held and cremation has taken place.
Donald Joseph Keenan was born in Rock Springs on Dec. 23, 1950, the son of Joseph and Vivian Mae (Tracy) Keenan.
He was graduated from East High School in Cheyenne, received his Bachelor of Science in history from the University of Wyoming and Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Wyoming.
The family had lived in Rock Springs, Evanston, Lander, Cheyenne, and Laramie, before moving to Riverton 25 years ago.
Mr. Keenan first worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and later established his own law firm in Riverton.
He married Lucinda Ellen "Cindy" (Gangl) in Cheyenne on Dec. 12, 1974.
He was a member of the Riverton Rotary Club.
His family said Mr. Keenan enjoyed outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and fishing in the Wind River, canoeing, woodworking, reading, and was a history buff.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Cindy of Riverton; their son, Devin Keenan and his friend Julia Morgan; brothers, Jim Keenan and Bill Keenan and his wife Susan; a sister, Sue Clark and her husband David.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Vivian Keenan.
Memorials may be made to the Riverton Rotary Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main, Riverton WY 82501.
