No services will be held for Frances Ann Heidenberger, 81, who passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. As per Frances’ wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
Frances Ann was born on July 14, 1943, daughter of Pius Francis Moss and Frances Mary Elizabeth RunsBehind Moss in Lander, Wyoming. She attended St. Stephen’s School, where she graduated high school and later pursued nursing studies in Omaha, Nebraska and Lewistown, Montana.
While in Lewistown, she met and married Daniel Miller, Sr. Due to Daniel’s service in the United States Air Force, their family traveled extensively, living in Fallon, Nevada; Brussels, Belgium; Austin, Texas; and various locations in Wyoming, including Lander, Laramie, and Cheyenne. Together, they had three children before later divorcing. Frances later married Eugene Harold Heidenberger.
Frances was baptized into the Catholic faith and was a devoted member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. A proud member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, she remained deeply connected to her culture, participating in traditional ceremonies, Pow Wows, and the Sundance.
She found joy in cooking for her family and had a passion for crafting, including crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Known for her knowledge and compassion, she was a trusted resource for health care advice among her family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel Black Coal, David Miller and his wife, is Stephanie Marie Wrenn-Miller; daughter, Deborah Behrens and her husband, Gene; grandchildren, Catherine Frost and Tess Frost; brothers, Pat Moss, Nelson (Bonnie) White, Sr., Leonard Ronald Moss, Sr., Nelson Moss, and Donald Moss; brother-in-law, Leo LoneBear; sisters, Susanna Moss Oldman, Rosella Moss, Ursula Moss Aragon, and Maxine Moss; nieces and nephews, Bessie Ann, Jackie Rae, Teresa Marie Moss, Ronnie Moss and Frances Moss, Luke Nakapaahu, Lisa (Nakapaahu) Wireman and Lucy Nakapaahu; and numerous extended family.
Mrs. Heidenberger was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Heidenberger; sister, Mary Teresa Moss Nakapaahu and her husband, Luther; sister, Elizabeth Clare Moss LoneBear; brother, Pius Moss; numerous other family members.
