Marian spent her early childhood at Crow Agency in Montana before moving to Fort Washakie, Wyoming at the age of eight. After two years, her family settled in Lander, Wyoming, where she graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School with the Class of 1969. While at BYU, Marian earned her bachelor's degree and later obtained her master’s degree in speech therapy.
While attending Ricks College, Marian met the love of her life, James Barton “Bart” Ringer. They were married on September 10, 1971, in the Salt Lake City Temple. In 1973, they moved to Riverton, Wyoming, which became their lifelong home. Together, they raised five children—four sons and a daughter.
Marian dedicated 33 years of her career to working as a Speech Therapist at Wyoming Indian Elementary School, where she adored her students. She was also known for her unique collection of decorative frogs, a passion she carried throughout her life.
She found joy in quilting, reading, camping, and backpacking. Her faith was central to her life, and she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Marian served in many callings, including the Young Women’s program and Addiction Recovery, and she was a talented pianist, which was her true passion. She was known for her infectious laughter, unwavering kindness, and love for all things purple.
