Mr. Nicol passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 suddenly from heart failure at Banner Health Center in Casper, Wyoming with his wife by his side.

Wade Alan Nicol was born on July 25, 1971 in Lander, Wyoming to Bob and Bernadetta (Deshaw) Nicol.  As a child, Wade was baptized into the Catholic faith.

Wade started school at Crowheart where the family resided at the time.  He later attended Millcreek school and graduated from Lander Valley High School.  Wade attended Central Wyoming College on a welding scholarship where he also participated in college rodeo and meat judging.

Wade spent his early working years in the oil field and then later he owned his own Roust-about business, but his true love was always farming and ranching.  He was finally able to do what he loved full time beginning in 2014 and was still farming and ranching at the time of his death.

Wade was a team roper and an excellent one at that.  He and his brother won many ropings throughout the years and he continued his love for it by going to rodeos and watching it on television.  He also loved to hunt, fish, go to auctions and yard sales.  Wade loved to cook and was an excellent one.

On June 7, 2014, Wade married the love of his life, Lori Dillman in an outdoor ceremony.  They made their home in Arapahoe, Wyoming on the family ranch.  Wade lived his entire life on the Wind River Reservation.

Wade was the true definition of a gentle giant; he was kind and generous, always willing to lend a hand or loan a tractor to a neighbor.  He had an amazing sense of humor and always had the best stories.

He’s going to be missed by everyone that knew him.  Survivors include his wife, Lori Nicol; his parents, Bob and Detta; brother, Aaron Nicol; step-sons, Tony (Heather) Martinez and Alex Martinez; step-daughter, Ashley (Justin) Nichols; 6 grandchildren, Lexi, Ameilia and Bella Martinez, Axton and Tyler Martinez and MaKenna Nichols; nieces, Hannah and Tayden Nicol; nephews, Kolbi and Rehn Nicol; great nephew, Aabriel Gomez; great niece, Lovelli Gomez; father-in-law, Willie Dillman; aunts, Maxine Wesaw, Connie Rowan and Cindy Deshaw; as well as many cousins.

Mr. Nicol was preceded in death by his brother, Wayland Nicol; maternal grandparents, Charles and Elvira Deshaw; paternal grandparents, Fred and Gwen Nicol; mother-in-law, Luane Dillman as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
