Funeral services for Shannon R. Burrell of Pavillion will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the United Methodist Church of Riverton. Officiating will be Pastor Todd Smith.
Cremation has taken place.
Ms. Burrell died at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. She was 33.
Shannon Renae Burrell was born on June 16, 1976, in Park Rapids, Minn., the daughter of Delivan Roscoe Burrell and Carol Leah (May) Burrell.
She moved to Fremont County from Granby, Colo., nine years ago and worked several years as a department manager at Linton's Big R in Riverton until suffering injuries in fall from the bed of a moving pickup last month.
Ms. Burrell was graduated from Central Wyoming College in Riverton with two Associates degrees in Science.
Her family said Ms Burrell was an avoid outdoors person who loved spending time with her family, working with horses, being involved with the Fremont County Fair and Rodeo including barrel races, and working with her daughter and her daughter's animals getting ready for the fair.
She was a community leader for the Arapahoe 8-1/2 4-H Club, member of the Friends of the Fair, served on the royalty committee for the Fremont County Fair and Rodeo, and had won numerous awards in barrel racing.
Survivors include her daughter, Devon of Pavillion; her mother, Carol Leah Burrell of Granby, Colo.; grandmother, Estella Burrell of Page, Neb.; a brother, David Burrell and his fiancée Eileen of Broomfield, Colo.; sisters, Becky Burrell of Pavillion and Cindy Garner and husband Rich of Rangely, Colo.; nieces, Naysa and Rachel; nephews, Del and A.J.
She was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandmother, both grandfathers, and an infant brother.
