Life-long Riverton resident Joan Boxberger died at her home in Riverton early Sunday morning, May 2, 2010, at the age of 92.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 7,at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton. Ron Cook and Jerry Youtz will officiate.
Joan Penovich was born in Riverton on March 27, 1918, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Diemer) Penovich. She attended the Riverton public schools.
She married Elmer Boxberger on Sept. 24, 1960, in Riverton.
Mrs. Boxberger was a member of the Neighborhood Alliance Church and had worked as a waitress at the Teton Hotel and the Cozy Corner Café.
Her family said she enjoyed gardening, knitting, and crocheting.
Survivors include a son, Ron Cook of Riverton; granddaughters, Jacy Cifuentes and husband Robert of Florida, and Kylie Cook of Riverton; a grand niece, Celeste Hagstrom and husband Gordon of Windsor, Colo.; a brother, Dan Penovich and his wife Alice of Missouri; a sister, Bess Williams of Prescott, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer, and siblings, George Apadaca, Violet Lieuallen, and Paula Lieuallen.
Memorials may be made to the Abba's House in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main, Riverton, WY 82501.
