A Service of Remembrance for Howard G. Lujan will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. There will be a wake at Eagle Hall at St. Stephen's beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 7. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at St. Stephen's A remembrance dinner follows Saturday evening, at Eagle Hall at St. Stephen's. Mr. Lujan died on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo. He was 51. Howard George Lujan was born in Casper on Jan. 6, 1959. His Indian name was "Sacred Coyote." He attended schools in Casper, including St. Anthony's Elementary and Dean Morgan Junior High, and was graduated from high school in Flandreau, S.D., in 1977. He attended Central Wyoming College in Riverton and Haskell Indian College for three years, receiving an Associate's degree in education/music. In school, he participated in sports and musical activities, including football and wrestling. He chose a career in music and became a para-professional at Fremont County School Systems from 1992, until he became ill. Mr. Lujan was of the Christian faith and his family said he studied the Bible, followed the word of Yashua and lived by the gospel of Yawey. He wrote and composed a gospel CD. The family said he enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, camping, watching football and professional wrestling, spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Janice R.
